thanks Phil.
i guess it is more about Operator ( Ableton) the way you can program it, open it ,making the top layer sound really harsh ,rhythmic and not boring. i gather it is the decay they play and filter at same time.
i got one video of rivera where he uses that but not as well as in the ones in ian carey tracks. it is basically that electro vib. here are the videos:
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=zOfyBtuyi8U&feature=related
http://video.google.com/videosearch?
client=safari&rls=en&q=ian+carey+remixes&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&um=1&sa=X&oi=video_result_group&resnum=4&ct=title#

Perfect example would be Bodyrox:

Phil,
i was reading the post i put on about miami house, and graham made good comments.
instead of looking at the videos suggestions posted yesterday, the track of chris lake " only one" could sum up what i was after.

Hello Phil,

Axwell, Klaas - I would like to see such a tutorial. Do you know the track Infinity 2008? I know from a 100 % source that the bass is NI Massive ... how about that? Many try to emulate his sound, but nobody achieves it.

Tutorials on electro house in general and especially one about developing basslines from chords, how to create chord progressions and deriving basslines & melodies from that.

In your Trance tutorial you give some progressions to download. But how would I develop one in d major for example?

Thank you and please update soon, I'm checking here every day. It would be nice if you showed a tutorial for dummies on how to use music theory in house music. Maybe in conjunction with software tools such as the improvisator or chord websites ...

Regards

Pablo

hi guys

just to add my 2cents,

i have watched all of the videos and regardless of style, they have taught me invaluble lessons about production techniques.

I would love to see some more tutorials based upon musical theory and how this affects computer generated music in terms of chord structure, moods, atmospherics, phrases, melody creation and the use of silence as a sound in melody (cant think of technical name of this sorry!)

genre-wise, would love to see something about dubstep (but not how to create the 'wobble bass', more about atmospherics), such as benga (intro to 26 basslines http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=p4D-hCO8Y2k) and skream (if you know - http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=g34XISOyWTQ) and 2562 (circulate - http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=3roryzLLhsg)

many thanks and look forward to seeing some great new tutorials in the future
