How To Make - French House with Soundprank / 510

BAD Course … the tutor focuses only on Sound Design , I didn’t see any tips on how to make the rhythm , the tricks of how to make the french house genre … this is so disappointing … PLUS , each clip is at leasts 10 minutes talking about SOUND DESIGN , tweaking the Plug ins while the tutor keeps on talking talking talking … IT’S a veery bad course !!!

So very sorry you didn’t enjoy this course. I think if you want to truly understand a genre it is worth understanding the sound design elements, and sadly this does involve tweaking, for what can seem like a very long time, plugins and effects. Some people love the sound design style courses some don’t  Hopefully, you will find other courses on here that will be much more suited to the way you would like to learn.

I really like this style , thank you for this course

An excellent tutorial. Nailed the sound I was looking for. Thanks

I did exaclty what you did on the bass, same software etc but i can’t get the same sound as you… there must be something you didn’t showed us

Great course. Learned a lot that I use in other types of genres!

im learning a great deal but the only problem is the video is too zoomed out from ableton, i Literally have to squint to see parameters.

Super tutorial,and cool sound

Interesting techniques, thanks a lot.

Exactly what I’m searching for

I really wanted to go through this, replacing the 3rd party plugins with Ableton devices (As I have done for many courses on here). This course in particular, however, is really hard to follow along with if you don’t have the plugins.

The instructor rarely plays the sounds. He will walk through, in detail, the settings of each plugin - which is great. But he will quickly move between plugins without giving hardly any examples of the sound (sometimes he will hit a few notes - but not always). If I had the plugins I could just input the same values, but without them I need audio to reference to at least attempt to get a similar sound with the plugins I have.

Why not provide stems of each track for reference? (As other courses have done) Then at least I could pop the stems in my set and try to match the sound after I watch the video.

It would be so much more helpful if stems were provided, or if the instructor just spent more time playing each track in between each plugin walk-through. Just playing 1 bar of the track in between each plugin would be a HUGE improvement.

Also, I don’t think this course should be called a “How to Make” course, as its not a walk-through of making the track, its just an in depth explanation of the sound design and mixing that went into this french house track. More of a “How to sound like” course. I would also classify this more as a beginner-intermediate course, as the instructor spends a lot of time going over very basic topics like what side chaining is.

There is lots of good info in this one, and the instructor is extremely knowledgeable. But this is audio! Hearing the words and seeing the plugins provides some info, but hearing the sounds is key! I am going to watch the videos, but I really wish I could I hear the individual tracks in more detail so I could follow along (You know, like the other courses on here that use 3rd party plugins).

Be great to see soundprank do a tutorial in his usual anjunabeats style ( start to finish ) maybe not so scientific as well. lol great tutorial though

This is hands-down one of the best tuts on sonic academy.

Really excited to start this course!!

Excited to jump into this one! Will leave feedback once completed!

I like this course - I wonder what it would have sounded like bouncing out the stems and mixing in Harrison mixbus… since the course came out new mixer in ableton 10 probably would do this greater justice… just a guess

This is exactly what i want!

filter house is good.

@SATA_MOOM

Have you checked this one already ?

Trying to follow alng on your bass 01 tutorial but I can’t locate the OSC 2 patch. Because it’s hard to read it looks like it says “(something) pro-soloist 7” but an internet search comes up blank and I don’t see it in the presets. Any guidance?
