Sylenth1 doesn't sound like it's presets

A good tutorial recommended that to continue learning and practising Sylenth1 I should open up a good preset and then recreate that sound on a blank sylenth1 in order to understand how, at every step, each setting adds to the overall sound. I use FL Studio 12 and despite copying every single setting down to its decimal point, the end product almost never sounds like the preset!?? In fact most of the time they sound nothing like the original!!

Has anyone else had this problem and is there a reason for why this keeps happening? Is there a solution to it??

sorry i can’t think of an explanation for this - if you are copying the exact settings from a preset then you should end up with the exact same results - the only reason you might not is because you are missing out some settings
