Hardcore Vibez
Mussi81 (16/03/2011)
got to love the hoover! bet the rush was immense ;)
speaking of rush.

Fortunately I don’t think the old UK hardcore owes anything to that Dune tune! UK 90-95 hardcore is immense, and totally my era of music. The name Hardcore is confusing cos its nothing to do with Dutch hardcore (which I also love).

What I don’t get about the Dutch stuff is you have all this immense hardcore, and then a bung load of cheesy Euro rave too, I’m guessing the scenes are considered seperate over there?

I remember all those Paul Elstak tunes, but also loved Charlie Lownoise and Mental Theo, anything on Ruffneck and Mokum and even a bit of Dyewitness and Nightraver.

But I’m all about the 4Hero, Bizarre inc, Sub Base, Moving shadow and all that ting too.

Basically the stuff like Paul Elstak, 2unlimited, 2 brothers on the 4th floor etc was all commercialy popular on the flipside for the underground you have the old Gabba stuff. I think Mental Theo was also on the more commercial side of the early rave stuff…

Yeah Theo sorta flitted between commercial and harder. Some mixes of the Ultimate sex track (Check the Penis!), weren’t very radio friendly.

Theo also gave you basshunter now your gone…

Ok ok, point taken.

Your point is only making Dutch music sound worse than it is though. Let’s get back onto the real hardcore like Angerfist don’t think there is any doubt here:

I dont see how my points is making dutch music sound worse??? If you, dont like these tunes fair enough but the dutch tracks I oosted were masively succesful, also hardcore vibes may hav been big in Holland but it was made by Dune who come from Germany…

Nah sorry, I jus meant that pointing out a Dutchman was responsible for Basshunter tunes isn’t the best example of Dutch music - which incidentally, cheesy stuff aside, I love.

.

well wether u like it or not a number 1 is a number 1…

Its a bigger achievement than any of us have accomplished…

True, but I don’t want a number one record if it has to sound like that :stuck_out_tongue:

Lol I dnt care if its just me farting down a mic, a no1 is a no1. Mabey its time to put the egos away and leave the pretentious bull**** at home…

True, but it’s not all about the Benjamins is it

No its also about the hot girls, reckognition, travelling experiences and regular performance thrills and adrenaline…

interesting that making great music doesn’t make the list?

Who said a number one has to be great music?? Just because a Hollywood movie star will do a big studio blockbuster commercial piece of crap doesnt mean he wont do a smaller indie arthouse flick to make himself feel better…

in my hardcore days i played dune regularly and crowds went berserk…

I actually sold a mint and sealed promo copy of dune hardcore vibes for nearly 250 guilders back in 2000 to a collector from the USA … Now i think you can get it for 10 euros :hehe:

haha wouter try and explain to these fools just how big this track is in Holland…
slender (15/03/2011)
Another class Jan moment - you truly are a SA treasure :)
He’s certainly that, that’s for sure.

i believe you wrote this already somewhere in this thread, it represents an era in time which is connected to peoples feelings due to experiences they had. For me personally it was this brotherhood/togetherness feeling which was present on the raves and gabberparties i went to and played at. Those where hardcore vibes for me

If you go to a hardcore party now it is, for me, mainly aggressive and “look at me how tough and ruff i am” atmosphere …

Absolutely, there is loads of cheesy UK rave from that era that I kinda hold close in my heart too due to the era it represents
