That would be ace, would love to see it done by someone else too
Mixing is the hard part for me, my ears go all wonky after a while!
Ok so how should I do this, I know how to extract the stems, seen the tut but there is a hell of a lot in there in terms of tracks, synths etc, so advice there would be good. I can then e-mail a link to them over to ya in a zip file, is best to keep them as wav’s or change to MP3 (keeping files size in mind?)
Got confrimation today that contract is being drawen up by a label just now, and expected next week in my inbox, but I presum this wont affect that is anyway as long as this is for your use only and for the vid right?
Unless of course u wanted a bash at a remix… one step at time tho eh ;)[/quote]
I would defo check with the label… cant imagine it being a problem as it would be great promotion.
how many tracks are you talking?
is it in ableton or cubase and what synths are you using?
how big is the project etc?

Total of 22 tracks including layered leads and an FX group (9 tracks in there including crashes & reverse cymbal) with a further 7 return tracks.
I could group this up to:
1: Kick
2: Hats & percussion group
3: Snar
4: Main bass
5: 2nd tech bass
6: Tech lead
7: Stabs & tech sound
8: Vocal string
9: Soft synth
10: Pad
11: Bass pad/string
12: Trance lead
13: Piano
14: Vocal chop
15: FX group
16: Crashes & reverse cymbal group
Maybe an extra for the pad sweep taken out from the fx group
the return tracks
Or could group it up more if thats to much?
The track is a 90mb wav file so average there.
Project file is 1.7mb
I’m using ableton with the Sylenth, Vanguard & Nexus
I listened to the track on Soundcloud, and what I think they meant by lack of space, is that you might have a little too much reverb on some of the sounds. There might need to be more clarity between some of the sounds so that the illusion of space/depth is in the mix.
Some of the fog can be taken away by less reverb on the instruments that you want to have more clarity, and only the most reverb on the sounds you want “in the distance.” You can also try adding some minimal room reverb on some of those sounds (like percussion).
You kick does sound kind of muddy and distant, but I’m on headphones listening late at night so I can’t really tell if it’s punching through or not. Maybe the click/high end of your kick needs more volume.
I compared your track to my fave, Sunrise, Anjunabeats 6, Vol 2., and it has slightly less reverb than yours, but the overall mix is about the same.
Since Phil Johnston is going to do a mix for you, that’s great.
Added: Oh, just thought of something else, lack of space might also mean not enough headroom for him to work with, but it would have been great if he explained what he meant by space.
Oh, and someone please let me know if I’m not allowed to give advice in the Subscriber support section
if you right click on a track and click freeze it bounces it down to audio but keeps all the stuff there if you need to change some thing you can unfreeze.
