Modern Techno - New Releases

Gary Beck - Hands in Mine (BEK Audio)

[hr]

Niereich - The Abyss (Octave Remix)

[hr]

This tune whilst under the influence on ketamine taught me a lot about tunes and how tunes ought to sound, in my eyes. My favourite so far. :w00t:

Nothing new here. The abyss track is lush tho.

Nice job lads…

Here is some old school madness to remind us who we are:

Was lucky enough to go to a “seminar” thing with him there a few months ago.

Very interesting day. Cool guy. He just uses Ableton now, Drumazon, TAL UNO-60 and the Lexicon Native Reverbs - sold all his synths.

Would have seen him play back in his D1 days… possibly, probably, more than likely, most weeks :hehe:

What laurent ep is that on the bottom… crispy bacon?

Yeah… Terrible version of it on YT - but beggars cant be choosers!

Fkn shame - theres a couple of class tracks here that arent on YT.

So much music has been lost - YT is a great resource when you think about it.

Its an archive.

Totally agree-YT has dusted down those old forgotten tunes.

I must say I was never into the more “commercial” side of Techno-I guess my asthetics have always remained more puritanical (a la UR or Mad Mike Banks) and “darker” rather than the more “soulful” side of Techno-Sven Vath, Dave Clarke and Laurent Garnier never really did it for me (except Orbital and Underworld).

When I do go into something more thoughtful, its usually Boards of Canada, Isan,Mum or Murcof.

It must be a reflection on what I liked as teenager- industrial, new wave, metal, hardcore punk and noise- I remember being blown away by Merzbow, Swans and Throbbing Gristle.

Still respect to all the tek-heds…including the Godess herself

Time to fess up - The garnier one isnt mine :pinch:

Also found AFX classics, which belonged to the same person - which I didnt know I had.

This is playing now

UR - Message to the Majors

Anyway back on topic with a modern techno tune

Not gonna listen to it :stuck_out_tongue:

Chris Colburn - Subway Jack

Tadeo:Reflection Nebula 056n (Substance Remix)

To my mind Stephen Hitchell (Intrusion, one half of Echospace, etc) is one of those producers that is a joy to listen to. I liked Soultek first LP Reflective and its nods towards Detriot-but this is a gem!

Prime time Black Dog Productions, Plaid,Kenny Larkin, early Aphex/Autechre and techno circa Artificial Intelligence/Dream injection period. Wonderful
