Hello there!
Im an eighteen year old swedish youth with an interest for techno music that grows larger by every day. The producers I truly admire and love are Boys Noize and his label BNR, Paul Chambers, Mumbai Science, Gesaffelstein, Paul Kalkbrenner, Shinichi Osawa, SCNTST, Cari Lekebusch and many other. As you maybe can tell, Im not the old-school techno guy.
I have a big problem. Im going through some kind of musical identity-crisis right now, and its frustrating as hell. I know that there are a lot of different subgenres within techno, but I cant manage to categorize the music I listen to into these different sungenres! I like the dark, intelligently built up techno that has an average of 125-130 BPM. It uses characteristic machines like the 808 and 909…
Please, see this post as a chance to help a fellow technolover. I really need some guidance. I have posted three different songs down below. On Beatport, Residentadvisor.com and Deck.de they call this music “techno”… on Allmusic.com its “electronic dance/club”… on iTunes its “Dance” hah -.- .
Tony Rohr - Eden Acid - Tony Rohr - YouTube
Cari Lekebusch - - YouTube
SCNTST - - YouTube
What would you call this? ****, I feel so dumb asking this.
Answers would be much appreciated! If you dont know the “answer”, DISCUSS WITH ME!
