jjdejong0 (21/12/2011)
Omg! I just saw ans finally SA have put out something ive wanted for years! Chris Agnelli doing a trance tutorial, this really is amazing. Thanx a lot SA and I wish you all happy holidays :)
just renewed my year membership cause of that one!! Phil and the boys are raising the bar!!

Going over how u made the melody was very beneficial. I know you’re currently busy w/ the rest of this tutorial. But maybe as an addition, you can make a sub-tutorial describing other ideas for making Dutch House Melodies

Oh sorry Phil, sometimes my browser fks up…

Tbh in truth theres no magic formula… IMO theres only one way to come up with them.

Sit down at you keyboard with a beer (or Equivalent) and play until you come up with something.

I sat down for a few hours a day for about a week until i got that one. and it didnt pop out… i worked around a general couple of chords that worked together then expanded it over a bar. recorded that in then played with the top melody then the bass last.

Its hard and takes ages but it is 100% the Key to a good hands in the air bit.

Just to add to that, check out www.dancemidisamples.com . . .

They have lotsa great packs with really big epic hands in the air chord progressions and melodies.

Also Phil I really like what you did with releasing the full course at once for the trance. Much better than releasing a course in parts imo, even if it means waiting a bit longer :stuck_out_tongue:

Cool…I also really enjoyed the drum processing segment. Parallel processing crucial for big room tunes:D
