Ok again showing my age but being in my early teens in the 70’s I had to listen to alot of sh**te but started to listen to John Peel on Rado One and I will post the musak that influenced me into who I am now

Used to listen to JP religiously every week… Used to tape his shows. Still have a few somewhere I think.
Used to love how he’d play Techno Records @45 instead of 33 1/3.
Once he played it @ wrong speed, stopped it… apologised… Then played it at right speed… Then stopped it & said that he preferred it @ the wrong tempo.
Such a great show. Nothing could ever replace that, as no-one will ever have the same level of knowledge of Music from the last 50 odd years.
Used to love when he’d go to Glastonbury & his Kids would be there etc… Always seemed like a nice Guy, a Family Man… Fair play.
John Peel was a god, his dry humour and hs utter love for the music he played with no pretenciousness (Ok slightly merry now) was an influence on so many
And his TOTP appearences to show his dryniss
