imo dark colours reflect better the ‘dance genre’, but I don’t think is going to be make or break feature so I’m happy with either as long as it’s easy to read and navigate

we are going with wordpress for simplicity, no domain yet but I’ll have a look this weekend,
United Vision is working on the site so should have it ready in a week or two if everything goes to plan
also just so you know, Roben will look after the comedy section

I’m up for this of course too. However additionally to this I have a showcase section on my site whic is crying out for tracks and or DJ mixes etc, just incase peeps were interested.

We are looking to create a ‘community’ blog for sharing music that we love.
I believe that by working together we can achieve much more than each of us individually.
So far about 15 people are involved, and we are open to all members of this community!

can/should we be trying to do this type of thing on the site?
we ultimately want to make this a one stop shop from idea to release… the music blog thing is part of that. soooo what features on the site do you want that would facilitate the same functionality as a music blog… it could be run by you or whatever.
question is… whats cool about music blogs (aside free upfront tunes)… interviews with artist pre release tunes?

Interesting food for thought there Phil… not sure about giving away our music on a blog tho in less I’ve missed something!
My thoughts on this would be what can sonic offer us if we hold the blog here… dont mean to sound rude btw.
If we could get a section say www.sonicacademy.com/blog which we can host the blog on and manage ourselves that would be ideal! Then we can put wordpress on it and manage everything ourselves and continue witrh our current plans. Just an idea for everyone to chuck in there. Obvisouly this would get rid of any cost to us by sonic hosting the blog and they would get more traffic in return.
I think it’s important that we keep it as a community blog and everyone takes responsibility for making it successful
The business end of this blog is of course to promote members music and to do that we need to attract regular music listeners, not just producers.
Support from SA would be great, maybe in a form of mention on the main page and in the newsletters, etc or If you could think of an initiative for members that would actively promote participating and promoting the blog…even better
But lets not get ahed of ourselves and firstly get this of the ground with, some quality content, etc

To have SA involved would be great. This would really add to the sense of community here with SA and together the blog and SA could really work hand in hand as well as help each other out.
I’m not sure ‘incentives’ are nessesery, just to have your name up on SA where members can read and see and hear, is incentive enough IMO.
