Been wondering all week how to beef my kicks up and Boom! Thanks thats some good stuff.
Everyone is very welcome. I’m here to help.
I am working at he moment a minimal track and i am following your tips . I think its a good challenge. I am seriusly holding my needs to layer synths ahhhhhhh. And seqience more melodic riffs but i have to remember is all about the minimalistic sounds according to your post grrrr. i will post the track when i am done sometime this weekend .
Hey buddy. You should always try to make your song better. Always. When you can say to yourself, “I’m sick of this and it can NOT get any better…” you are done. By that point you will have a song that is 10 times better then if you quit when you thought it was done originally. Let me know if you need help and I will do what I can.
I tried to experiment with minimal . But my track came out more electro than minimalz:) well if you want to check it it is in my soundcloud acc:p
Here is something that I learned.
- Take the DJ you like the best.
- Create a track that you think that DJ would play.
- Make it the best song you have ever done.
- Send it to him.
With a little bit of luck and networking, the DJ might play your track at one of his gigs one day. Last night, for the first time ever, I heard a song that I made played out for a packed house of about 1200 people. By looking at the crowd reaction, everyone loved it too! It has so far, been the defining moment of my music career.

^^ Yeah which track?
Congrats by the way! Must have been a real buzz.
Great post howiegroove!
Very cool collection of tips that is somewhat the foundation guidelines of turning a regular-sounding track into a pleasing-sounding track. I’m sure a lot of people will benefit from this post.
Congrats Howie, what track?
Its a techno remix of a track called Disco Sticks. I can’t send it to anyone yet. The label would get pissed off. It will be released under the Different Pieces label in about a month or so.
