not everything has to have feeling howie man, code r70 has the right idea … in his care home they use unfeeling sound to subdue feeling , as feeling is a bad idea when your trying to calm mongs down …

im with him hahahahahahahahaha (joking by the way code r 70 ):w00t:[/quote]

I disagree. Every bit of music commercially made has feeling. Even if you are trying to calm the crowd down there still has to be some feeling to it. Even minimal has feeling.

havent watched all of it but its a great post... These I find are the most valuable as they help talk how to really "start making music" and building a workflow. seeing how others just dive in helps tremendously...

does anyone else know where to find vids like these?

Surely any art form should create a feeling even if its boredom

thats right slender.

For once I actually agree with Howie here.

Also I don’t agree the video was worth watching, personally felt it was 40 mins of wasted time.

I disagree, mainly becuase I liked the kicks, loops and vst’s used. infact I paid for the loop and percussion packs I liked them so much and used them in a remix i’ve almost done for a label. so very helpful for me… so stop moaning about ur 40min Roben

Aaaannnddd I’m gonna have to disagree again, min tech has no feeling, well it evokes nothing/nadda/bugger all for me in term of feelin.

But each to their own people

watch n… yawn more like zzzzzzzzz

Minimal tech has alot of feeling if you actually get into it. The percussion and little hits. The Syncopation. The groove of the drums. There is feeling in everything. Drag a professional song that you think has no feeling into ableton and extract the groove of it. Then drag it into an empty midi track and tell me that every hit is right on the beat and they are all the same volume. Then I will agree with you. My 2 pennies.

Why? It’s not a matter of one or the other. Some is about feeling, other is not.

Listen, I prefer to make love, but that doesnt mean I cant enjoy pure raw sex!

The world is not that black and white. The video as showed was maybe without feeling (even that is arguable), but it did show a lot more then just that. I dont even thing the video was about making a “feeling” track. It was more about the technique…and the ability to create that in 40 minutes…well, as apposed other say that it’s easy…I dont think it is. If making music is so easy…well, we probably all would be millionaires by now.

And you needed the whole 40 minutes to find that out?

BTW, I enjoyed the video very much. Loved to see the struggle to find some synth sounds. And hey…not all of us are freaking-uber-fantastic-mindblowing-producers yet.
