£1500 to spend on my new journey to the MAC side of life!!
what do you guys reckon…
the i5 macbook pro???
Yes mate go out and buy it now Ill also be getting my brand new shiny MacBook and I can’t wait. Macs are just better in every way. Any high end studio you go to they will have a mac. Any mac vs pc forum topics you see will probably consist of pc users whining. Finally anyone that tries to argue that a pc is better than a mac are just morons that get confused when they don’t have a right mouse button to click and a big blue E on their desktop.
nice 1 mate.
end of the month… ITS MINE BABY
just get the most computer you can get for the money.
and a handjob!
too much wine. hic…

No whining from me. Just a smug sense of satisfaction that my PC can do about 10000 more things than a mac can do at half the price.

And blue screen is only one of them…
Don’t forgot frequent crashes, viruses and more of a load on CPU using essentially the same hardware now I wonder what the other 9996 things are…

10000 wow list just 200 please
Get the highest spec’d Mac you can - but do not get extra ram or hardrives. Far too expensive in the Apple Store. You can buy all that sh!t yourself afterwards & throw it in for a fraction.
Same with software. If you are going to buy Logic, dont get it from the Apple Store. Local Online Ads such as Gumtree (dont know what other ones yiz have in the UK) & Ebay always have lots of copies going for much cheaper.
I bought my Mac a few years ago from Musicstore. Cant remember the exact details now, but I managed to get a Soundcard / Monitor / 4gb Ram & a extra 250gb HD with the money I’d saved compared to the Apple Store.
Dont know what the prices are like these days… but shop around before you buy. There are bargains out there.

Heres a deal a Guy on another Forum that I use shared last week. Its the last model MBP 17"

Anyway… Best of luck George, you’ll enjoy having a Mac & OSX. Its a lovely computer / OS. But my advice is to have a good look around before you commit.
yep totally!!! go for the highest processor you can afford but drop down on the ram and HD grab them from another store for part price
ICN, do you think you can just come in and answer the actual question like that!!!??
ignoring our mac/pc battle ???
get your act toghether man, you’re setting a bad example
Hey **** you Sean… I’m insulted.
I’ll let you know that the MBP link is going straight to my Boys in Nigeria.
I’m hoping to Jack his Card - Shhhh
Ah no… Link is good. A Fella who is an Apple Trainer replaced his old MB with one last week.
Jigsaw are fine. Based in Nottingham. They’ve got a showroom I think & you can collect in person (if I remember correctly…)
We love you MacBooks we do, we love you MacBooks we do, oh MacBooks etc
My friend has an MBP and hates it. I just agree with him so I can pick it up off him for cheap.
I’m a Mac and windows was my idea
i love the mac books too but if its for production and i had £1500 id drop it on the quad core imac and not a mac book.
the only time i would go for a mac book is for djing, i got a mac book and then sold a mac book after a year of realizing it never left my desk and i know many other people to that do this. if its for production drop the cash on a desktop version for dj-ing then grab a mac book.
I use both PCs and Macs heavily, I never feel limited by my mac as it can do everything a PC can do. the only argument that may come up is with regards to high end gaming, but I use my xbox for that
I like my iMac for working at the desk, but the freedom of the macbook pro is very cool. I love DJing with it or taking it out to the library or coffeeshop with some headphones and noodling about
You wont regret it!

yeah exactly i personally would keep machines separate for what they need to be doing laptop for djing desk top for producing and xbox or ps3 for gaming

Alright, I’ll give you this one, it was pretty funny.
However. I built my PC a couple months ago - use it all day every day and I’ve yet to see it crash once. Windows 7 has really come a long way from the BSOD days.

Just look at 200 different places on your mac. I can right click on all of them
Don’t forgot frequent crashes, viruses and more of a load on CPU using essentially the same hardware [Smile] now I wonder what the other 9996 things are…
As above - I’ve not had one crash.
No Viruses either, although you’re about 10000 million times more likely to get one than on a mac. Get good AV and just be a little careful.
May be more of a CPU load, however, I can get 4 CPU’s for the price of your one and then overcompensate for the high CPU load.
PLUS whenever I take my PC to a bar all the girls throw themselves at me, GUARANTEED*
This thread has totally been highjacked
Here’s a test for you. Go down to your local Starbucks. Take a look at the people using laptops. Now decide which ones look like they need a punch in the face. 99% of the time I bet it’s a grubby hippy student mac user.
Lot’s of Love
