911! help please!

I am DJing my first party saturday night, it is just my friend’s house party, but i have run into a problem I am getting terrible crackling sounds on my tracks in my speakers and in my headphones. I have eliminated my turntables from my setup because I will not be taking them with me. I originally thought it was my computer and have moved a whole bunch of stuff off my computer to help speed it up. that didnt seem to help so i then suspected it was the quality of my mp3s so i used only mp3s that i knew were 320kb/s and this didnt seem to help either. I am running a Traktor Scratch Pro Native Instruments Audio 4 DJ and a Numark 1050 Mixer and my my laptop is fairly new, i got it for christmas 2010,

If you have any ideas how i can fix this crackling sound i would be greatly appreciative

Thanks in Advance

I dont know if this helps (probably wont) but should you be using MP3 format? Isnt WAV better?

But I think its more to do with your soundcard or settings? I personally just use ASIO Drivers since I cant really afford the better stuff.

I dont personally know what to do since I dont DJ but I know that whenever it crackles I just reduce sample rates to take it away or sometimes volume does the job. But maybe reducing Sample Rates for a set is a bad idea? Dont personally know… Just fiddle with your settings is all I can suggest…

My guess is the latency on your audio interface is too low. In Traktor check audio settings in preferences and increase the buffer.

THIS was my thought as well!

make sure you have the most up to date drivers for your stuff as well

320 mp3s are fine i reckon

Turn your wifi off…

Lol if hes having to remove stuff from his computet to speed it up then I dont think he should be worred about wav files.
