I’m looking for either a really cool talking synth (oooh, eeeh, aaah sort of thing) or a really cool effect for vocals (post production, no need to be real time).
I’ve done vocoding, distortion, text to speech and autotune for real vocals, so something different to that to make normal vocals sound ‘non human’
Talky synth wise I’ve got a reasonable throaty sound from Analog/Formants, just wondered if anyone had anything exceptional to share.
This is for an article I am doing too, so you can see it in print if its cool!
I have Melodyne too (tho only last week) so if anyone knows something natty with that maybe too?
Mess with the EQ and create formant Filters they have formant filter Presets in abletons EQ another thing i love is the WOW Filter you can also try some sort of bitcrushers or if you have NI massive they have many wave cycles like Modern talking, deep throat, gentle Speech with some modifying you can get some Ehh Ah Ohh sounds
Also when you are messing with the EQ formants and writing midi modulate the Pitch to imitate human pitch
also running vocals through a granular synth sortoff like alchemy you can get those angelic ahh type pads which i really like
Cheers I’ll take a look.
I’ve done the Formant thing in Ableton, I’m interested to find something a bit like that with more impact, and preferably more or less reproduce-able in all DAWs to some degree.
Check out Native Instruments the Voice.
I have that also as it goes!
I’ve covered most bases, I’m just looking for one last effect.
I’m thinking I might go for a creepy haunted/voice in your head with reverse reverb.
