I have been using Reason now a few days and its just so much fun but it got me thinking. I know alot of people complain about the lack of vst support etc but is this such a bad thing?? I think with vsts you can get spoiled, instead of learning the ins and outs of a vst its easier to download another or download a synth soundset etc and just go preset surfing. I think everyone has worried about the plugin race and constantly buying new stuff cos u think its the answer to getting the sounds you want and making you pro.
I think the whole vst culture are spoiled rotten, its too easy to get em and I really question if people REALLY know how to use all the features instead of just the two little arrows that browse through the presets… I mean dont get me wrong ive been guilty of this too theres just way too many vsts lol.
However with Reason you only have what your given this really forces you to explore every nook n crannie of these plugins. I think this is awesome on a very sneaky way lol. Its nice to not have to worry about lotsa different plugins and vsts. Its also nice to really explore all the different options on the different devices you get.
Just thought id share this and tell you all to stop worrying about getting new plugs and just learn the plugins and vsts you have…
I agree with you and promised myself not to buy any new plugins this year and learn what i have - so far so good and ofcourse I can save up to buy hardware that I can’t use but makes my studio look sexy and pull all the girls
No more soft synths for me either.
Shall we all give up sex for the year too?
