A message to Phil & Gang

Hi in your video sidechain bass in tech tip I noticed that you inserted a minimoog wave file into the simpler instrument. Is it possible for you to upload the tutorial files onto the website because clicking on the tech tip tutorial files comes out blank.

Also will you guys be doing a video dedicated to Ableton’s operator? I feel that my biggest problem is not knowing how to create the sounds I want & having a powerful syn like operator but not knowing how to use it is frustrating. I know the basic perimeters but when I try using operator to create that minimoog sound in the video my mind just goes blank cause there is so much to tweak in operator lol.

Anyways an operator tutorial would be great cause i simply don’t have the money to buy other syns like sylenth. Cheers!

stealthy check your inbox.plenty of stuff to teach you everything you want to know(outside of what you can learn here of course

Hey buddy thanks for the link but I’ve already checked out his stuff. Pretty good but what I want to know is how did he know what waves to put and which algorithm? Its like when he mixes all these waves together it just confuses me.

If you’re good at operator could u give me some tips as to how I can make the bassline from the sidechain bass tutorial using just operator? I know its a minimoog v cause Phil mentioned it. Maybe I need a run down on basic syn with operator lol thanks :stuck_out_tongue:

The files for the this tutorial are online now!!

the trick with those waveforms is mixing in a bit of 7th note… so just adjust the course pitch of one of the osc up 7 and mix it in until its just audible this give a rich harmonic over tone to the sound.
