I think i might call this L.A House
really big in the states at the mo… lot of DJ mates say its going nuts out there.
If we had a pound for every derivative of house we could solve the euro crisis
Just saying
How many derivatives of techno are there?

I can’t keep up with all of these new genres. :w00t: This sounds more like epic club house stuff to me. But yeah, if you go on Beatport all these types of songs are now getting lumped under Progressive House.
Back in the day progressive house was more tribal influences and progressive beats, and not all these big synths.
I hate to burst everyones bubble but this is true DUTCH house…
Who cares if it’s called Progressive, L.A. or Dutch, ‘true House music’ or whatever?
A lot of people seem to be obsesses with categorizing, just for the sake of being ‘different’. And who makes the rules anyway?
definitely huge in hollywood. You can hear the opening DJ’s at the Avalon blare Hardwell track after track… gets really annoying after you hear 4-5 of his tracks in a set
Tbh tho i would listen to Hardwell over Avicii or SHM any day…
+1 for the hardwell style tutorial would love to see a really in depth tutorial lots of layering to get those really big sounds
not based on hard knowledge as I don’t really follow the industry, though i think its more for EDM indexes who sell music to de-complicate the buying process so they can move more units. But as Erick Morillo(or perhaps it was Pete Tong) said a few years ago… the walls are coming down, and sometimes you’ll get a progressive house-inspired trance track, and you struggle to find where one genera ends and the other genera starts, or struggle to identify which genera it is. Which is a good thing… as it would be a very lame dance scene if everyone only played in their own field and did not bring some of that talent to other genera’s or sub-genera’s.
+1…
why not
Yes please! +!
Guys, the new Dutch House tutorial is pretty much exactly it, with some small variations / differences. No need for another tutorial for this, IMO. Just need the rest of the videos for the Dutch House tutorial – which is fantastic, by the way.
And this one:
How To Make Main Room House using Ableton Live - How To Sound Like Daniel Portman, Swedish House Mafia, Laidback Luke, Sebastian Ingrosso, Steve Angello | Tutorial 1 - Intro
Not an exact match, but get rid of the vocals and with some fine tuning of synth sounds / overall master characteristic it’ll get you damn close.
Two words
Michael Woods
well for me anyway.
