That’s because you don’t follow a formula for techno. You feel techno.

Absoultly rubbish - you get a 4 bar kick and then throw in any old s**t noise your vst can make - add a female german vocal on loop and there we go

Edit: Well thats how Gav told me how he does it :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s minimal mate. I’m talking PROPER techno here.

personally i dont follow a formula when making techno

but its shocking how there isnt any decent techno resources online. if you search  youtube for house, dubstep, trance there are **** loads of tutorials on how to make different sounds but there is f all regarding the sort of techno i want to make

no one is prepare to spill the beans

I am not so sure that is the case - when i make a track its more about experimenting and that would be hard to tell some one in a tut - In fact I had given this alot of thought and sure I could tell you what vsts i use, settings etc etc - but it still would not tell you the essence of how i produce

Techno as most of you know is not emulating its about creating something new (unlike most edm), maybe thats why not many techno producers give out - it just simply impossible to do it in this sort of medium - come and see me work in my studio/living room and i’d be happy to show  Bring beer and loose woman though

Yeah exactly.

End of the day though, it’s loosely based around house. The best way you’re gonna come up with something IMO is by listening to tunes and interpreting what you think is good and putting it down yourself in your own way.

Noone can ever show you how to do it, you have to get a feel for it, where you want the track to go. You’ll never be truly original copying techniques, you have to be the one inventing the techniques for the rest to follow

It’s cos no-one can agree on what Techno is

I was just about to fkn post that in the other thread, but changed my mind.

As soon as Orbital & Marco Bailey gets mentioned in Techno (sorry Lads  ) - it all goes tit’s up.
