A question for Bryan/Phil

Hey i thought i could probably best ask you guys this as im completely lost when it comes to connecting up say something like an analogue compressor or something like an analogue limiter. I dont have an analogue mixing desk nor a digital one all i have is my computer, my MOTU 828mkii and my monitors. I also have a hardware synth which i plug directly into the motu with midi cable and audio cables.

But anyways a friend of mine has lent me his TC Electronics Finalizer express untill he returns from backpacking. But i have no idea how to connect this bit of kit into my setup and make it that i can take my mix and put it through the finalizer and viola have my master.

You can check it out there, if you could give me a complete idio when it comes to this stuff a bit of help on how i would go about doing this then i would really appreciate it.

Thanx.

In ableton you use an external fx rack on the master.

Do I just connect it via the xlr jacks?

Do I just connect it via the xlr jacks?

Hey Jan, what you need to do is connect it with 1/4" TRS cables. You can use XLR to 1/4" too and connect it to your audio interface. Then route the audio out of Ableton Live with the External Instrument and with the same instrument, route it back in. If you need some more direction, just ask or shoot me a pm or whatever. Im happy to help.

Ok cool howie thnx for the help ill give it a go wen i get it and ill PM ya when i get it set up
