so i finally got round to updating my 3gs to os4
did all the back ups and everything and when i look at my phone i realise ive lost all my contacts! now i can understand how this is a pain in the arse to a business user but for me its not so bad as i can get most of the numbers back…
but what really f**** me off is that ive lost 1 years worth of my daughters life on video and pictures.
after a google search it seems i am not the only one, looks like there is many more like myself
i think this is completely i irresponsible of apple and dont know how they can release a software update that deletes previous backups
not happy
How funny! I was just gonna post on the good times thread that I’m posting via my new iPhone 4! I’m enjoying it at the minute.
Now THATS a ****ter!
I upgraded my iPhone 3G to IOS4 on the release day, i have it jail broken to Orange Network (before Orange had the contract to sell it).
Since updating, i am no longer able to get onto the internet via my iphone… apart from that, loving it!
Have you tried re-connecting the device to your iTunes and putting the backup data onto your phone?
i had no problem with mine - i didnt lose anything.
after the 3rd “restore from back” up ive got my pictures back! woo hoo. but my contacts were not there but ive imported them from the sim and there is loads of old ones on there so ill just go through them and delete the ones i dont need.
why it worked the 3rd time i dont know?!?
