a1 synth not in cubase five?

hi all!

excuse my being a bit of a cubenoob, but is there just no a1 synth in cubase five? can it be legally downloaded somewhere or do i have to buy it? any help appreciated!

i’m not a cubase user these day’s so wouldn’t know, but i’ve just looked at the plug-ins list from their website and it seems that its not listed in the virtual instruments section.

from what i can find info wise its not been in since version 3-4 but you maybe able to download it for free from steingberg if i has been discontinued

I used to use A1 when i was a Cubase 4 user, remember it being pretty good! Bit of a disapointment if they’ve discontinued it, no doubt if they have though they’ve replaced it with something better?

Sorry i’ve not used 5, can’t help here.

meh from what i can see they’ve replaced it with halion one, which I haven’t really used yet, so maybe that’s a synthydoohdad… Other than that there’s spector, mystic, prologue, embracer and loop mash. loop mash isn’t really a synth and the others were (I think?) in the last cubase… I’m using native instruments massive atm though and thats quite cool.

Hi,

If you want to use A1 from within Cubase 5 you will need to download and install Cubase SX3 from Steinberg’s FTP site.  Once you have done this you can copy the .DLL (assuming you are running windows) into your Cubase 5 VST folder.

Hope this helps
