Ableton clip problem

so ive had a boo boo

somehow ive added in some extra midi notes to a clip that i made. problem is in the clip in session view the midi notes look fine. but when i play back the clip the sound is really pitched down.

ive found that if i copy the clip into arrange view and expand, you can see the notes have been duplicated an octave down and another octave down from that. fk knows how i did that lol :hehe: i just cant get in there to delete them

on the piano roll within the clip it only goes down to c2. it looks like i need to go down to c20 for example.

does anyone know how i can do this?

If you grab the grey area on the left hand side of the piano roll and pull down, does it bring you down to where you need to go?

na man ive tried that… just cant get any lower than c2

have you tried Tippex on the screen? LOL

______

Recreating the clip isnt an option, is it man?

Select the top midi notes - copy - paste into a new clip.

well that sounds to simple :hehe: but i really want to understand how ive done it and how it can be fixed but yeah i might have to :stuck_out_tongue:

also its not a straight forward clip its a little bit complex…well for me anyway lol

i cant even copy the good notes and paste them into a new clip

Is it locked up or something? Can you protect clips in Live.

I dont know it 100% - so dont know man.

well ive found a work around, i just duplicated the clip across, looped it and then cropped it. problem solve but i would still like to know how it happened in the first place. i blame my daughter! :w00t:

LOL

Y not just do it in Arrange view and copy the clip to session view?

it still doesnt allow you to go lower than c2…

It should let you go down to C -2 (as in 2, 1, 0, -1, -2). Is it lower than that?

Also, what happens when you press fold? Can you then get at the notes?
