Hey guys i want to know if its possible to assign midi controls to replace using my mouse. Specifically i want to use the pitch mod joystick on my novation 25sl. And use another button for left and right click. I want to use that to select the device the sl controls rather than have to use the mouse to move the little blue hand. Does anyone know?

You should be able too with Osculator on a Mac, there is something similar on windows but I forgot the name now… I’m not sure how useful it will be tho
Cool idea! Interested to hear how you get on with this.
i want to use the keys on the keyboard to select each channel
and then use the pitch mod joystick to move the mouse and can assign a drum pad on the 25sl for mouse clicks
that way i can use the 25sl and my launchpad with out having to touch the laptop to select the instrument
with the 25sl i need to click on the device in live so that the control knobs on the keyboard will control the particular device
in a live setup using a mouse is a pain so i want to avoid it if possible
anyone know how to do this?
ill maybe ask novation
Sounds tough because mouse movements are not controlled by MIDI, it all comes in via another protocol.
I suspect the way you’d do this is have a MIDI to mouse converter or something.
My suggestion would be to buy a really small trackball/pad/joystick and put it on your SL. I assume you just want it on there for ease of use, right? So you’re not reaching over all the time?
Or maybe a touchpad:
hadnt thought of the protocol thing being an issue
those are both good ideas bouff and ant
laptop has a touchpad but its f**ked
i think i like the idea of the trackball better but the pad wd take up less space is suppose
i drew it out on a page and its a bit small but then thats whats needed if i was to take all my gear out to a club
i emailed novation to see what they suggest.
there is a knob on the sl that moves the mouse cursor but only diagonally up to the right and down to the left
cant make it do anything else - i hoped there might be a workaround with that
other than that i think the pad or trackball are the solution
thanks - i knew someone wd know !
are my posts invisible or something? lol
you can do it with osculator
Sorry huffy i just dont have a mac. Thanks for the tip tho… Ill google that thing on windows you dont know the name of!

Yes
so i got an email back form novation and as expected it cant be done
however i realise the the 25sl has a rectangular pad just to the left of the keyboard
its to assign fx etc (a bit like a kaossilator type thing)
but a usb touchpad would probably fit right onto that bit
touchpad it its then!
