Apart from the APC, are there any other controllers which are good for Ableton DJing?
I’d like the same control that CDJ decks and DJM mixers give me idealy.
Running Traktor through Ableton via soundflower is fun. The best part of course is the use of the Kontrol X1…
Has to be the finest marriage of software & native control for Djing at the minute…
Food for thought
Is it possible to use 2 x Kontrol X1’s? together for 4 channel mixing?
tis of course… you can also do the job with just one X1…
Two is better of course…

Here you’ll find all the information you’ll need regarding this setup.
the soundflower utility (& Traktor) enables you to assign each deck to each Ableton track input… for more remix magic…
The possibilitys are endless with these two giants working together, designed especially for you
Sounds like it! Thanks for the advice, will defo be looking into this
I actually use Maschine. I got rid of my APC40 and my MPD and use Maschine for both.
Been looking around and it looks like the Allen & Heath XONE 3D and DJM 800 could be the ones!
Pricey though!
This actually is starting to look more possibly what I could be after!

Novation and a LPD-8 for me. Works wonders. But any self-righteous “real DJ” mocks me if I show up to the club with one… :crying:
Roben I have a uc-33 for sale if you are after one.
I have started using a apc20, macbook pro hooked up to a soundcard that sends my different channels on ableton to different channels on a standard DJ mixer, can run fx with dummy clips or link them to the faders on the apc20.
Why not go for one of the new Pioneer controllers, as close to the CDJ/DJM feel as yer ever gonna get. They might be designed for Traktor /Serato, but they are still just midi controllers, so you can just map how you like and save it as a template.
Especially if you are up in the Xone price range!
Or the Kontrol S4, same deal, and it’s cheaper, or the Denon MC6000 (cheaper still and does 4 Decks/Mixer built in).
If you want more space there’s the SC2000, no mixer and only 2 decks, but small and solid:

Or any of the VCI range…
I have a couple of EKS XP5 for sale, boxed with cables and Traktor 3 LE for £125
They are midi so you can set them to control anything you like, they both have Asio soundcards in as well.
