Alright everyone… I just got Komplete 6 today and just installed it. I purely got it for the new Guitar Rig and Reaktor. However, I was curious why someone would use Battery over Abletons Drum Racks or NI Kontakt Player over Simpler. I just dont get the differences or whats better. Please explain what you like better and hopefully if I set this up right, I included a poll that you can choose multiple answers to. So choose either the Ableton instrument or the NI instrument.
Alright guys…it worked! Choose the three you like the best out of the choices.
well thats my choice
i get why you like fm8 and massive over operator, but why kontakt player and battery?
i prefer simpler and sampler to kontakt because the are easier to work with and i prefer battery to drumrack basically because i don’t like drum rack.
i would have put impulse as my choice over the three if it had been there as an option for drums, simplicity is the key for me when programing drums and impulse ticks all the right boxes. its much easier to work with and uses only half the cpu cycles of drum rack.
Something to keep in mind Jon. We have talked before and I told you about that cat that I know that works for Ableton right? Well, from his mouth, he said DO NOT do your drums in Impulse. There is an issue in the way that Ableton’s Impulse runs the samples. He said that the best way to program drums in Ableton is to either A) run a bunch of Simpler instances as midi or B) if you need to layer your snares or kicks, you can run a drum rack to layer them.
i’ve never noticed this issue ! what exactly is the issue? if it effects the sound then surely i would notice this ? if it doesn’t effect the sound then it has to be performance and i’ve also not noticed this either.
im not in any way shape or form saying your guy doesn’t know what he is talking about, but an issue is only an “issue” when the user notices it
its not a big enough issue that you would notice sonically. it has something to do with the way that Ableton’s Impulse actually handles the waveform. This is not the case in Simpler, Sampler, or drum racks.
thanks for the info bro, i’ll have to have a play around and make drum loops in both and compare them in a wav editor to see if there is a visible difference in the wav files
