Access Virus Classic

Hi br
br
I’m having a hard time getting my Access Virus Classic to accept MIDI-IN. The hardware will play the demo song and I can even record this into Ableton, so the audio side of things appears all in order. My problem is getting the unit to respond to my Oxygen 49 Midi keyboard. br
br
Any experiences/advice on this subject would be appreciated.br

I read in the manual that there is a musical ‘note’ graphic on the Access Virus unit when there is incoming MIDI, but I haven’t had this at all.br
br
By the way, I’m using:br
br
Ableton Live 9br
Akai EIE audio interfacebr
Oxygen 49 MIDI keyboardbr
br
Set-up:br
br
USB lead from MIDI keyboard to audio interface (this is recognised in Ableton)br
MIDI lead from MIDI OUT on audio interface to MIDI IN on Access Virusbr
br
and the audio leads as normal - this part of it works fine.br

It should be Keybaord USB in to computerbr
br
Audio Interface in to computer.br
br
then it goes in to ableton through a channel and out the midi out of your interface.br
br
are you getting the keyboard in to ableton ok?

Thanks Phil, I’ve managed to fix it now… I’ve no idea how I did it though!br

Next problem is the tempo syncing to Ableton!

You need to turn sync on in ableton midi prefs.

thanks, got it… though after watching your brilliant interview with Charlie May, it’s tempting to turn off the sync and allow weird and wonderful accidents to happen

yeah defo… such an inspirational guy. his workflow is so organic and fearless.
