Advanced production tips

Hi there,

Loving the site, but ye, alot of basic stuff i’ve found.

I need more advanced stuff please. Things like stutter edits. I know alot about the note cutting of these, i.e on 32nd, 64th 128th quantises etc

But need more effectiveness. And how they make them sound so lush.

Also, production tips on tech trance and tech house. like sander van dorn, sean tyas, simon patterson.

Also how to make good transition sound effects, like axwell in “I found you” and similar tracks. I know its something to do with samplers and LFO timings, just can’t seem to get it smack on.

Mainly advanced techniquies to make tracks sound complete and with weight behind them. I know alot of this is about compression and EQ and distortion. I’m pretty cool with synth programming side of things.

But a complete video on putting a well polished track together would be amazing from you guys.

Best wishes with the site. Love it so far.:w00t:

Peace

Darren:D:D:hehe:

I really feel the same. A tutorial video like this would be AMAZING!!

Have you guys seen the bitesize videos in the subscriber Videos section?

We cover some of the stuff your talking about in there.

if youve already seen them maybe another idea would be for you guys to post links to tracks you have done and i can help show how to beef them up and polish them a bit.

HI Phil,

Seem to have a problem with the link you sent in here. Comes up with an error.

Also, this is one of the kind of things i was on about. Love the way ian carey produces his tracks. I’ve been watching his videos and checking his forum.  Any ideas how he makes this arppegio bass line. He says this about it in his forum.

" i made that patch with albino, its basically 2 saw waves, one detuned to +7 semitones and a bit of noise, nice short decay and long release on the filter envelope and a long release on the amp envelope so when the filter opens you get a long sustain."

I’ve tried this, but can’t seem to find the filter envelope.

This is the track i’m on about. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=3ZfWLs05bo0

Would be great if you had any ideas on how he did this bassline. Maybe he programs the arrpegios or maybe he uses the inbuilt arppegio in albino. I’ve tried using it and putting swing on a 16th arppegio. But its still driving me insane…

Maybe you could do a full video section on how he does this, or even better interview the man and find out his secrets. hehe.

I was going to subscribe but then you guys doubled the price and its a little to close to xmas for me to sign up now, So i can’t get the sonic bitesized stuff. Never mind, hope to subscribe soon in the new year. But keep up the good work, really enjoying everything.

Peace

Have a wonder christmas.

Cubase Module 3 shows how to make a similar lead sound.

the synth in the deadmau5 bite sized is also similar its just played slower.

i wouldnt use an arp for this sound just draw the notes in.
