I producing a rock balad and need some advice on how to tweek the vocals.
What is important to do in terms of EQing, Reverbs and Compression etc.?
I know it depends on how you like it but what are the “general rules”?

compressing vocals comes in 2 stages… 1 controlling the general dynamics and 2. controlling the attack of the individual words.
then you have to consider EQ and de-essing.
The peak time trance course has some good stuff on vocal FX and compression.
For reverb i usually use short slap back delay or just the early reflections from a reverb.
