Hey Guys,
OK so I now have an AKAI APC40, and need to know something please.
Amazingly, it has full two way comms between the device control knobs and the led’s indicating their levels. Irritatingly the templates used for each ableton device and what Akai have set don’t make sense in some cases, and some miss out knobs alltogether.
What I would like to have happen is:
If I load up a simpler : that I can predefine how each knob on the AKAI is assigned to that simpler. i.e
Knobs 1-4 are Start, Stop, Length and Fade,
Knobs 5-8 are Attack, Decay, Sustain and Release,
Knobs 9-12 (second bank of DEVICE control) is Pan, Filter Frequency, Resonance and Spread,
THEN IF I LOAD UP say for example a Compressor:
Knobs 1-4 are Attack, Release, Ratio, and Output, (but without any other saved controls messing it up)
I know I can press apple M and relearn the command for the knob each time I add a new device, but this is a pain in the ***.
So basically what I am asking is: IS THERE A WAY OF ME SAVING MY OWN DEVICE TEMPLATES SO THAT BY DEFAULT WHEN I ADD A SIMPLER… that it will pull up what I want i to control.
Does this make sense OK?
I hope someone can help!
thanks
Jonny
well, the problem lies in that once you manually start to map things, then they wont move to each individual plugin. In other words, I believe Ableton decided to include the most common parameters to control when each effect/synth is selected. play around with it. if you switch something, then you just have to go back into the control settings under midi and select apc40 and it will go through the default setup. other then that, rtfm.
