ANA 2 Issues

Hello there,

I am working with FL Studio 12.5.1 and while I use ANA2 every time I come across theese issues:

I was using G-ENV to create Pitch Bends, and Pitch Attack ( using Pitch Coarse for all OSCs or some of them ).I noticed that sometimes they aren’t coherent and they make i.e. triple click like they were out of time. But I though maybe it’s some feature that I don’t know how to use.

But lately I was working with a few Timebases PPQ ( custom in FL is 96, but sometimes I turn to different i.e 24 or 960 ) and not only Pitch Attacks but whole OSCs were out of time - those Pitch Attacks were now delayed by some larger amount of time and it played different in every PPQ ( it depends which timebase I have programmed the plugin ). This issue was most noticable when I was playing with detunes to create supersaws.

It’s not that it appears always but often and it becomes annoying.

When I work with few ANA2 instances it’s even more often - they need to be coherent like every plugin.

Issue above is probably the same issue here but no sure. Sometimes when I play with detune or LFO, the Pan goes random directions - I needed to fix this manually. Later I noticed that there is something like comb effect and random freqencies go strange - low are slightly to the left, highs are at the center or right. Ofc all theese alterations are tiny, but when I want to work with the stereo image it goes in the foreground.

I think the issue is the same and it is perhaps working with the DAW clock or sometimes OSCs don’t work precise or both and it causes phase problems.

All theese bugs are maybe a question of some jitter timing?

I haven’t such problems with any other plugin.

I could record an example if you need it.

And two more not connected to above.

When I play with the plugin it uses CPU decent enough - I can work on it ( i7 4770 K ), but when I save the project and reopen it. It takes lots of CPU.

Sometimes when I play stop/pause some notes last until I hit stop few times or I need to play the section once again.

Hopefully this will be fixed cause this synth is a great weapon
Thanks!

if you can provide a patch with the bug you are referring to ill check it out[quote=“Shockspears, post:1, topic:34059”]

again if you can provide a patch or a video to demonstrate ? or a way to reproduce what you think the bug is.

you’re saying your project takes more cpu after you recall it and begin playing again?[quote=“Shockspears, post:1, topic:34059”]

if you can give me a way to reproduce what you are seeing

Okay so this is an image of the G ENV setting and in the mod bar there’s Pitch Coarse All:

Now theese are render files of this sound with different Timebases:

PPQ 960 ( Highest )

It’s very hard to reproduce it, but I tried. Theese are two instances of ANA2 so 6 main OSCs, some of them are monophonic, monophonic with S/H fast rate LFO and some of them are simply detuned with a detune knob.

Also pay close attention to quality on two PPQs - the lowest 24 has also much lower sound quality and the highest is the highest.
I think this issue I was noticing is caused by waveforms playing out of sync and that’s why sometimes comb occurs or it’s flanging.

Exactly!

I will try to explain it. When I play ANAs, especially many instances they play fine, but when I move the cursor on the playlist to the place where i.e. there’s nothing, some ANAs ( most frequently mono leads with LFO on them ) play the last note until I hit the stop - lasting note problem. Many plugins in FL had the same issues.

If you need more detailed info I will give it to you

Many thanks!

I have the exact same issues. I’m also on FL Studio 12.5.1

Hey there, I’ve got a walkaround to this problem. When you switch fixed buffer size in the processing section of the plugin. use the maximum buffer size from the host - the problem disappears.

EDIT: the second problem - strange freq panning also disappears. Wow now the sound is so sterile!

But ofc it takes much more cpu that way. That should’ve given you some clue perhaps.

can you please try the latest 2.0.8b

Hi, I’ve updated to beta, tried and unfortunately double/triple clicks still occur but luckily the problem disappears when I use this mode:
