Hey i dont know if this is just me or if this is a known bug but i cant seem to access the automation lanes for any of ANA’s stuff like the filters etc. Ive tried the usuall clicking on the thing you want to automate like the filter 1+2 etc and ive even tried recording automation but its not working. How do i access the automation envelopes?
Any ideas?
go to the ableton FX area click the arrow on ANA to revael the Automation configure then click the buttons you want to add.
For those not quite familiar with what Phil is referring to (no disrespect intended), when you are in session view in Live, close the ANA’s GUI. Look to the bottom of the screen for ANA to be listed (see pic). Click the triangle to point to the right, and click “Configure.” Doing so will bring the ANA GUI back up. Adjust whatever knobs, choices, etc, and this will show up under Configure. These will now show up in the Automation lanes in Arrange View.

I clicked the FX arrow, and pushed the configure button. Then tried to click on a knob on ANA (Cutoff), but couldn’t get it to register on Ableton’s automation options. Any other ideas?
You have to move the knob to register it with Ableton.
Hey guys, sorry a little late to the party. I will try the methods listed above. Question: Any advantage to putting ANA in an instrument rack and then assigning its parameters to the macros, then automating them? This automation thing is new to me but after watching a number of SA instructors’ tutorials, both in-house and guests, I see how vital automation is to producing EDM, and how relatively easy it is to do in Ableton. So I want to get up to speed with it and ANA, which I love!br
