I own ANA and I’m taking the Synthesis courses and I’ve heard that, yeah, you can use “any” VST and achieve the same results but I just don’t see how. There are specific functions of Sylenth1 that are used in the tutorials to create specific sounds and I can’t pull it off. Maybe I’m just dense but I don’t see it.
Here’s the issue - I don’t have the $220 it would cost me to buy Sylenth1 and I think I can do just about everything in ANA (given that ANA was created as a cheaper but altogether straight across alternative to Sylenth1) but I don’t see a kind of 1:1 relationship between them in their interfaces. What I mean is that when Dial X is turned on the tutorial for a specific effect I need to hunt for it on ANA to achieve the same kind of effect. While I understand that you can’t mirror their work, I have two questions here:
- Is there going to be any effort to rework the tutorials using ANA (which is a SA product)?
- Is there something that will work out better for me re: Sylenth1 so that I can learn the overall interface better? I’ve tried the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the Sylenth1 demo and Ableton refuses to acknowledge either of them.
Last - I know that all subtractive synths have the same type of interface with the same type of overall layout and the same type of functions but for some reason I just have trouble finding it.
Super last, sorry for the long and rambling set of questions - I’ve had a long day and I’m kind of at my wit’s end trying to figure this out.
