Ana

right, I have bought it, I have downloaded the files and licence…now what, 3 zip files??

do i open all of them or is there a specific one to open, also the licence where does it go

please respond asap so I can get rid of this bloody “thanks for trying this demo” out of all my tracks lol

should have a read me file for installation.

thanks.

when you open the plugin it should ask you to register… then you direct it to your license file.

The different zips are PC, MAC, MAC 64bit.

Yeah will get one in

I am a noob at installing things.

I am using a pc 64 bit and i have 3 zip files, what one do I open, nothing has prompted me to my licence file, there is an exe file, which took me to set up wizard and planted them into my x86 programme files, but all they are a dll files which wont open.

any advice?

the .dll files are the plugin and should be in your vs plugin folder.

you will be prompted to register when you first open the plugin.

I don’t have a vs plugin folder or I am not aware of one lol, the sylenth demo brought its own folder called steinberg and thats where I directed ableton to find it, do I need to create a folder in my x86 program files and stick the .dll files in there?

sorry to be a pain. :crying:

ok, a bit further forward, it has created the vst plugin folder

and the dll files are in there, so what now?

just put the .dll in the same folder you have sylenth.

On PC the standard vst plugin folder should be.

Program files/steinberg/vstplugins

but as you say you can have ableton use any folder

all worky now, cheers phil your a star

No probs! let us know what you think.

oh I will, once I know the ins and outs of it

Phil,

I am having some issues as well - I installed the 32bit OSX file. I dont see it in the following location Library/Audio/Plug-ins/VST. But I do see it in my Plugins folder in Ableton - Sonic Academy/ANA. When I try to open that plugin, Ableton just crashes on me. Doing a search in my mac, and I cant locate a ANA.vst file. I have the license code, but have not been asked to enter it anywhere. (as a side note, I did install the 64bit incorrectly at first and deleted that. i have installed the 32bit 2 or 3 times now, as I thought that it was an error on my end)

Any help is appreciated. Looks like a great synth and I cant wait to use it!

once you run the installer it will unpack the .component files and .vst files to

HD > Library > Audio > Plug-ins > Components

and

HD > Library > Audio > Plug-ins > VST

respectively

what version of live are you running?

Works for me under Lion (10.7.3). I have installed both, the 32Bit and the 64Bit versions. 32Bit works under Live 8.2.8.

You might want to try to install 32 and 64Bit versions as well. Live should pick the right one.

Just got ANA.  Actually it was one of the easiest plug ins I’ve installed.  Downloaded to my VST folder, ran the set up, and it popped right up in Ableton Live.  Can’t wait to try it out!

Any one experiencing any problems with this synth? I have noticed 2 things…

A) its hoovering up the CPU. Might this have something to do with ableton being 32bit and both 32 / 64 bit versions of the synth being installed or is this the way it is? its using some 40% of my CPu or more playing a simple chord… none of my other software synths come anywhere near this?

B) one of the keys is stuck down on the keyboard… i know its only a virtual keyboard and isnt causing the note to be played… but its just messy IMO.

Looking forward to some views on this?

cheers

Paddy

whats your system specs?

Some of the patches with lots of layers will use more CPU... have a look if chord hold is on the patches you are having large cpu on.

can you replicate the stuck note? where you using mouse on the synths keyboard? or your computer keyboard? is it happening often?
