so Chris does this fancy things with during the complextro tutorial where he turns the fades on a sample, right clicks and selects “slow down”. how could i do this in ableton, I haven’t been able to track it down.br

try that
I’m guessing the fact that you can do this natively in Logic and not in Ableton will be confirmation for Chris that Logic is indeed better than Ableton!!!
i just finished a remix in Cubase and i have to see it was really enjoyable… i didnt get bogged down in the arrangement the way i usually do in Ableton and to my ears the mix sounded much cleaner.br
br
so i think both logic and ableton are second now for me. Cubase FTW
Yeah i actually started on Cubase quite a few years ago (i got hold of a cracked version back then), and i have to say i loved it. I have always preferred it to Ableton or Logic, but interestingly i never committed to using it, as there is not a demo that you can try without the e-license thing, and there was no way i was going to fork out about £600 for the new version without being able to try it first. I also remember being put off by the ignition key back then - it just didn’t seem very accessible!br
br
So i continued on with Reason and still use Reason to this day, which i have now bought of course!br
br
But this is an interesting point about DAW manufacturers not being too heavy-handed with their anti-piracy measures - if Cubase bothered to provide a fully-functioning demo that can be used without a dongle - i may have ended up buying their software instead!br

br
that, unfortunately, is for windows. well, now i know i will have to find a plugin or something to do it.br
br
thanks!br
