I will have to agree you there.  Football bores me.  But 300 million americans have a different opinion. It is the biggest sport over here…

To be politically correct, the ball is White and Black.  Some may take offence…:hehe::P:D

Went to stealers game when I was in pittsberg… How you get an hour long game to last 4 hours is ridiculous!

referee timeouts( tv commercial breaks) which last anywhere from 30 seconds to 2 minutes. these happen during parts where offense switches to defense or vice versa or when coaches call for official replays and such.

also

2 minute warning at the end of each half also is a commercial break happens to be around 3 minutes of commercials. only happens twice in one game.

its my understanding that in Europe commercial breaks don’t happen as much

In a word no - usually during football and rugby there is only ad breaks during the halves - normal tv they are only allowed to show 20 mins of ads an hour - it used to be 15 till fairly recently - but this could change as commercial tv (ie not the BBC) revenue has decreased due to internet and the general economic climate

I remember when i was last in the states and was watching something on PBS and they totally stoped the show for people to pledge - we would have rioys here if that happened during our soap operas
