I’ve just received my APC 40 on friday and i got to say it’s a good device. I was wondering, to be honest, if it was not just a toy for big boy but not at all.
It’s well built, faders and knobs are excellent. It’s easy to use and almost it’s really usefull.
It gonna change all my way of making tunes … it’s a bit like Ableton has became hardware…
Conclusion: buy it …

I’ve paid it 429 euros…
oh yeah so that converts to $745 aussie
plus the usual logistical charges to aus
so I will be paying around $999 for one when hey hit the shores here.

I feel the apc40 looks more geared toward Dj use (session view) rather than producing music (arrangement view, where I assume most people work). Who knows though, maybe this could change all of that!
Im pretty happy with my remote sl for the time being though.
I have one as well, and I must say that it is amazing. It is geared toward live use, but it plays like an instrument. you can jam out to it with clips and record your progress you make on the fly. i also use it similarily to having hardware in front of me. I can turn the knobs on the apc similarily to controlling external hardware (which is why I really like it). I paid $399 USD for it. But if you want a more in depth review, check out what Tom Cosm had to say about it. He is in New Zealand and He paid about the same as us in the states. Check it out.
