Arrangement top tips

Guys,br
br
I think I am really close to be happy with my trance track and its sounding close now. I was wondering if there are any top tips to setting out an arrangement that may not have been covered in the training videos.br
br
What do you do?br
br
I know its got to be good at building up because it trance, and I wont be happy until the breakdown makes me look like a hedgehog with goose bumps!br
br
Gonna zip off and buy the FX pack now to help with builds

My tip would be to spend a good 10-15 mins muting and unmuting various parts in your track with all the others playing, and make a mental note of what sounds good, and which part of the track it might be best used in.br

This is something i have picked up on when using ableton - because of the clip view, that allows you to create different rows that have different combinations of clips playing at the same time. br
br
What surprised me, is how good certain combinations of sounds can sound together, that i wouldn’t necessary have though of programming in manually.br
br
By adding this element of spontanuity and randomness to trying to identify combinations of sounds for the arrangement, you can quickly get a better feel for how the track should progress in terms of it’s arrangement.

My tip about arranging builds in trance is don’t just think about constantly building, think about deconstruction too, strip stuff out and then bring it back in rather than just keep adding all the time.br

When filtering the stabs, leads and chords, open them up to build up the suspense and then drop them back down after breaks, so you can start opening them again, to really create more tension.
