Can you slice up a audio drumloop so you can put it into impulse or drum rack, the problem ive got is im putting my first track together since subscribing to SA.Ive been following th HTSL electro tutorial mainly now the problem ive got is that ive used a audio drumloop off elektro house producerpack now im arranging my drums and obviously you need to take different elements of the drums out at different points of the track ive done the kick seperately but the rest is a audio loop can you slice up the loop or do you need to recreate it from scratch
If I understand you correctly you’ll have to start from scratch.
From what I know you can isolate a kick from a drum loop but you can’t take much else out from it.(I may be wrong) You can however slice the loop to midi and mess about with it that that way(see minimal tutorial)
Jonev1,
You have at least 2 options.
- Slice to new midi track. Right click on the drum loop cell. As long as you take the time to understand how and why Ableton slices up the transients depending on your particular choice you’ll end up with a good group of individual hits in the Drum Rack. Anything in arrangement mode can be dragged back into session for reslicing.
- Manually drag the loop from session into arrangement mode …zoom in and manually cut and isolate the individual hits.
