Audio/ Firewire interface

Hi i want to get an audio interface nothing major, im looking at the m-audio fast track pro or the Focusrite Saffire 6 USB Audio Interface. With i want is a interface to record from my keyboard to cubase, which one is best or are there other interfaces out there ?

My vote is Focusrite Saffire 6!

I’m with ANT. I have the Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 DSP and it’s great.

I first started out with an M-Audio and it was junk. I could hear pops and feedback when using a mic to record vocals, I quickly exchanged it while I could for a Tascam US-144 and that was a nightmare as well. It was very unstable and I had many issues/crashes with it. So after looking around and reading reviews I saved the extra couple hundred dollars and went for the Focusrite. I simply love it and it sounds great. Not to mention that it comes with Virtual Room Monitoring as well.

Definitely go with the Focusrite.

Focusrite ftw.Although I would get firewire connection.

Other good brands motu,tc electronics,presonus.

M-audio,alesis,behringer not so good.

Yes, I agree with J4 also. Definitely try and go firewire if you can. I didn’t have firewire on my laptop so I ended up getting a PCI Firewire card for it. Definitely worth it for the latency.

If you do decide to go firewire and need to add a firewire PCI card then make sure you read the preferred brands that Focusite recommends for their products. It will save you aggravation. They’re not expensive either. I got mine for $50.

Saffire 6 is a great little card, and if you’re on a PC I would recommend it over any firewire card. The new Scarlet 8i6 and 18i6 might be even better options, as they aren’t usb powered.

I own both Saffire 6 and a Saffire Pro 40, and the 6 works better with my PC. With my mac, I prefer the Pro 40.
