I want to know if we have a tutorial learning how to use the beat repeat to make breaks and special effects like Gustavo Bravetti mades on this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LKV_bxid_Xs). I don’t want to know how he does to progam the wii control to work with ableton, but i want to know how to make that type of effects with beat repeat.
How are things mate?
I think the main thing is with these tye of stuttering randomiser fx, is to actually record what it is that you are doing… then add that bit of audio which sounds good back into the mix. Thats the best way to make sure that its perfectly the same every time.
There’s a program called OSCulator which allows you to connect almost anything that sends a signal to control the different parameters in Ableton. It has a special compatibility designed specifically for the Wii remote. I wouldn’t be surprised if that is what he is using in the video.
Drawbacks are, however, that it is Mac only, and certainly not the most user friendly program I’ve ever used. With perseverance, however, its worth a go. Any its only 11 quid or so, so it won’t break the bank.
