Beatgridding in Traktor Pro

Hi there

wondering if you can tell me when setting beat grids in Traktor Pro should you use more than one beat marker or just drop one on first definite kick drum and then line up grid from there?

I have been beatgridding some tracks and have a few that were on point most of the way through the track and then seemed out towards the end,

any advice would be appreciated

Regards

Rob

Hi man

Have you checked out the traktor tutorial??

Just one at the start should be fine, although sometimes if a tune has an epic pad intro with no transients, it doesn’t quite get it, if it doesn’t just set the grid marker where the beat drops and it should grid it either side of that point, also if BPM says like 130.13 you can pretty much be sure that the producer made it at 130 (assuming that it’s not played live)

Hope that helps

the beat grid tutorial didnt show how to negate problem tracks which is the big prob on Traktor.

There is some good stuff on youtube

Im beginning to loathe traktor as even if I have a metronome matching the grid/beat and the grid looking and sounding spot on I still find I have to manually tweak slightly in or pre mix to get it spot on.

Which suggests my grids are off I know, but if the metro is clicking in time the grid looks sounds good…Im flummoxed…Im better on the fly with my ear. I wish I could get it to work as advertised would make life easier.

Maybe I should try serato
