My best advice is go down to a music tech shop anf try them for yourself - i ended up with a pair off Shure SRH840 and got them down to £100

Guys - those of you that don’t like the Sony’s - is just down to build quality, they keep breaking, or sound quality or both?

Can’t believe no one has mentioned the AKG k240 mkII! I wouldn’t fancy using hd-25s for anything other than djing either.
never had a problem with sony MDR-V700 personally i find them great for studio work and as far as i know Josh Gabriel uses them to so they not exactly ****. besides if they are half decent sound (not harsh or dull) and you know them well then you should be able to work well with just about anything.
I am using some Shure SRH440’s for when at college and they seem spot on, well worth the money as only paid about £70/80 for them.
