Bitesize Tutorials

A couple of things i have to say about these bite size things.

1.) They can’t be paused and rewound like to module videos, so if you miss a bit you got to replay the whole thing!

2.) Why are they only showing Ableton?, What about Reason? we don’t all use Ableton, can’t the same things be created within Reason?

I guess the guys are busy AGAIN as there is no replies!

I know you are busy with day to day things lads, if the bitesized things can’t also be done on other formats eg Reason, then at least program the vids with pause and rewind as with the normal tutorials in the courses, having to watch the whole thing again to get to the point where it gets confusing is a real ***!

all the vids have the standard quicktime seek bar and play/pause button.

it could be a problem with active x if your using IE6 or 7

do you get the same problem in firefox or safari?

The trance bitesized overview vid has the controls.

But when i click onto the individual sections (the drums video) it just loads a window and plays the video from a stream (no quicktime controls)

However playing about i managed to stop the vid by clicking on the stop button at the top of the screen (within the vid itself on Ableton)

The same goes for starting playback again, i double click the play button and it carries on.

Pc’s have all sorts of little niggly things that are just an annoyance.

Another question,

I have followed the tutorial to separate the drums into their own tracks with my own samples.

The problem i have now is that there are no clips within the tracks to copy and paste to the arrangement view from the session view!

I tried loading the individual samples into their own clip (which can be pasted) but then there is no sequencer to draw the beats, just the sample playing back through it’s waveform.

Impulse is needed, but how can you have them in the arrangement view in their own tracks, to build up???

In the trance tutorial tune the beats are straight in at the (full kit stage) from the beginning, but i’m sure you know tunes build from just the kicks and so on up to being a full kit.

hi project trance… load in an empty drum rack !

if you load  your samples in that then you get a little drop down arrow press it and that expands the individual parts from there you can treat all individual sounds (reverb /phaze /eq )… its also really handy for sidechaining other sounds hope this helps man

u need to use the impulse track.

u just drag the track from the impulse channel onto the arrangement view

This is not the point i’m trying to make my friend, if you watch the trance tutorial, there are no tracks in the impulse channel.

or as i call them like the tutors, “tracks and clips”

hey project trance as i said before (sorry geez it wasnt clear enough:D)

i think the only way you can do this is with a drum rack if you follow what i said in my last post regarding the rack- right click on the expanded parts this will give you an option drop down click on extract chain and this will give you independant tracks for each individual  parts … Hope this helps

…then do what paul says

I had the same problem trying to watch the Deadmau5 video in both IE and Firefox (Windows XP). Wasn’t able to resolve it other than clicking to stop and double clicking to start again.

ill have a look in to it… might be that the widow is sizing wrong on some browsers.

I figured it out. The sizing on the window is indeed incorrect. Just need to resize your browser and the scroll bar/video options will appear allowing to pause and play, rewind, etc…

Happy Thanksgiving everyone (belated)

Hey mate i tried this but even though i insert an audio track it turns into a midi track upon dropping the clip into it…

You da man!

All you have to do to resize the browser is click and hold on the outside and drag it with your mouse, the Quicktime controls reveal when you drag it slightly larger!

First problem solved, Thank You very much!
