I know every course on here will have various ways to create builds but I would love to see a course which concentrates on the various techniques used to really create an impact as a tune kicks in after the break.br
br
Making good snare rolls, different filtering techniques on the leads in the build up, FX used on them, sweeps, crashes, drum rolls, all that kind of stuff.
there are a few tutorials but the easiest way is just to use our Ultimate FX construction kitsbr
br
All the elements are there you just need to drop them in… there are also a ton of other sweeps, impacts and FX to build your own.
Hi Phil, I have the ultimate FX but it’s not really what I meant, I was looking for inventive ways bring in the main drop, like drum rolls, different types of snare rolls and the effects used on them, ways to make the build of the leads and strings in the breakdown really exciting, and filtering techniques so when the tune kicks in it doesn’t sound less powerful than the build itself, that kind of stuff.br
br
Also I don’t mind using the odd sample from these packs, but if I start using a whole construction kit it’s not exactly my own.
you can totally mix and match the elements from the packs… at the end of the day you would just be spending time creating what is in the construction kits.br
br
In terms of what to do with the synths strings…br
br
if there is a progression hold on the last chord and repeat it.br
br
If its just a riff break the riff down to a 1 or 2 note repeated section and maybe have like a pitch up.br
br
automate the reverb up and hi pass everything.br
br
most important thing in bringing in the drop is to make sure that you have a good kick bass combo coming in and the any build previosly has had the bass taken out for a few bars before the drop.br
br
also make sure you are either heavily sidechaining any reverb FX tails or white noise or you are cutting them out completely when it drops.br
br
These techniques are used over and over again… the fills and risers in the construction kits are whats happening in 95% of big productions so dont be scared of using them as a starting off point.br
br
you will always be layering your own riff or effects over the top anyway so they will be different enough.br

This is actually a really sweet idea Jimmy…I would love to see a couple huge build ups made from scratch with some explanation to go along with it.
