Can i simply upgrade from logic 7 to 9?

or do i have to spend a fortune again ? or as a beginner, does logic 7 offer me everything i need to get started ???

i am itching to go, i have a mac, midi keyboard and logic 7

any help much appreciated

its worth the upgrade, makes logic a million times better and easier to use
