Hey Everyone,
Here is the question. If I have a midi track with a bassilne, and I would like to have one clip with and one clip right below it without an arppeggiator, Live isn’t letting me do this. if i put an arpeggiator on the top clip, any clip within that midi instrument must have whatever effect i have loaded on that specific sound. It will however let me change the sound, pattern, etc. Thanks for any help.
Howard:unsure:
just have 2 different tracks with the same clips on
one with an arp effect and one without
Is this the only option?
you could automate the on/off switch for the arp
prob easier to just have 2 tracks unless cpu is a major issue.
Thank you for the idea. How do you automate to turn something on or off? Does it have to be in arrangement view or session view?
I know how to automate effects, just not how to turn something on or off.
Thanks
in the arrangement view you select the track that the device (arpeggiator) is on
then in the device chooser below the track name you select that device (arpeggiator)
the first line of automation available to you should be the “device on” function
if not, then select it from the drop down box below that, the “control chooser”
this will give you control over the on off of the device.
in session view this isn’t really very practical, and i would suggest going with the above solution by duplicating up the track, one track for each arp device.
