Hi there,
I’m unsure as to why ableton sometime will not let me change the velocity of a note when I’m editing. I use the velocity scales down at the bottom of the page, and no matter how high or low I make the velocity ableton does not seem to be changing anything, and I’m unsure of how to fix this. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Cheers,
John
In the instrument you need to tell it how much to let the velocity affect it.
Each instrument has a different place that need setting so for example in Simpler in the bottom right there is a Vol % that is set to 0, if you set it to 100% (I go for 80%) velocity will affect it.

80% is the way to go
What about if its a midi part recoded in using a sylenth?
In sylenth you need to assagin volume to velocity in the modulation section on the right. You can asign filter cutoff and other stuff too.
