This has been bugging me for sometime, i really like the chord sequence in this track and would love to know what the key sequence is, anyone here good at recognising?
Starts at 2.03
Much appreciated
I thing i did when i first started djing before the great key matching software came about, was to play a song and play a mid keyboard on a daw at same time, when you get your root key go from that and then its just a case of finding chords in that scale, it will stand out straight away when it harmonises, just a brainwave lol
Anyone got an idea?
hey roben, give me a couple of hours…
roben my man. missed this post before, just noticed it thought id give it a shot before bed.
i think its |F#sus4 |Db7sus4 || repeated over and over.
in midi that would be these notes stacked in bar one…
F#3 B3 C#4 F#4… then in bar 2 stack these…
G#3 B3 C#4 F#4…
they are pretty much the same chords (except for the change of one note…) BUT dont forget the tonality of the chord will change due to the root note changing in the bassline. the bassline centres around F# then Db in the second bar. the guitar that comes in is playing the same chord over both different chords.
hope this helps bud.
also… im sure you all know this already… but chord progressions are NON copywritable… which means you could use this chord progression too in your own track if you wanted…

Cheers mate!!
Woah that was it really? Just had to check it out, it sounds like a bigger key change than just one note! Nuts.
Really cleverly done. I’ve never really been impressed by a chord sequence as i have with this.
I guess the pad sound it’s using defo helps.
ill give you something to try out…
try playing a riff (piano stabs…) with the SAME CHORD repeated over and over in each bar… BUT… heres the cool bit… change the bassline in each bar…
sounds good dont it
(this is basically what these guys have done but theyve changed that one note in the chord too.)

great 4 part show covering melody, harmony, rhythm and bass
Hey Roben,
Here ya go. This is as close as I can get.
You might also want to try and add some vocals (“ohh…eeeh”) and run that thru Ableton’s Vocoder using the chords and brass patch as modulation.
