Clouds/Ado/GTRONIC Style Bassline Request

I would love a tutorial on a bass with this style, any of the songs would perfect.

I provided multiple songs because I’m more interesting in how to create this type of sound instead of recreating a song.

Also, if it matters, I am using Ableton with Sylenth.

Clouds stated that they make their bass on Massive if anyone was curious.

Is this the type of sound youre going for?

Yeah, more or less. It doesn’t sound quite as dirty, but with a little eq’ing and a filter or two it could be perfect. Have some tips on how to get there?

Also, is this Jon Pegnato, or do you just have the same avatar as his fb?

oh yeah its just a start if i were to layer that with some other stuff + Resample it would be immense! but its mostly saw waves brought down an octave + Saturation + EQ + a Comb Filter which i forgot to enable! (Wow Filter) i noticed the Comb at a low freq gives it that metalic type sound to it + Reverb its easier to do in massive which i didnt but you get the point

No Prob man its a preety easy sound just make sure that when you’re applying distortion you apply it little by little

Can anyone shed more light on this? I think i missed something in that post that was edited. I have Massive, could someone tell me how to replicate the sound with it?

Sorry for the stupid beginners question, but what is the point of resampling a synth rather than just using it as a plug in?



Do you do something with the sample that would not be possible with the synth?

  1. It saves cpu
  2. You could add effects resample and re do it
  3. Sometimes its good to split the bands of the sound add effects to each band and resample and re do it.
